Online Counselling, Anywhere in South Africa

Also in person in Stilbaai · Free 15-min consultation

A wellness counsellor serves to enhance the total well-being of clients by making use of a systems approach to counselling, working towards wholeness within the integrative unity of body, mind, and spirit. The level of counselling I offer is that of primary health care: comprehensive counselling support for individuals, couples, and groups, alongside the medical and clinical care you are already receiving.

Whether you are carrying something heavy at the moment, or feel that something in your life needs attention, you are welcome here. Together we can work through relational conflicts, life transitions, trauma, anxiety, the weight of caring for others, and the everyday challenges that accumulate. I work at your pace, in a way that honours the questions you are ready to ask.

My particular focus, in the wellness space, is women's health: endometriosis, PCOS, perinatal care, matrescence (the psychological shift into motherhood), perimenopause and menopause. I also work with chronic illness and chronic pain, end-of-life support, and aviation and high-stakes career mental health, alongside the general counselling practice.

I work with adolescents, students, adults, and the elderly. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming.

Denisha Kotze - Specialist Wellness Counsellor in Stilbaai

About Me

I hold a BEd (Further Education and Training) degree with a specialisation in human movement sciences and sports management from the University of Pretoria, which I completed in 2015.

My journey in education led me to become a dedicated teacher. During my tenure as an educator, I had the privilege of working with children with diverse special needs, across primary and high-school levels.

Recognising the importance of continuous professional development, in 2020 I decided to further enrich my skills and knowledge by pursuing an undergraduate degree in counselling and psychology. In 2023, I completed my Bachelor of Social Sciences, specialising in counselling and psychology, at SACAP. To complement my academic achievements, I also gained hands-on experience at Jagersbosch Community Care Centre, working under specialist supervision. Building on this foundation, I completed my Honours in Psychology at SACAP in 2025 and will be commencing my Master's in 2026 at the University of Pretoria.

My Approach

This holistic journey has equipped me with a unique blend of educational, counselling, and psychological expertise, allowing me to approach challenges with a well-rounded perspective. With a genuine passion for growth, learning, and continuous development, I am enthusiastic about collaborating with clients dedicated to enhancing their well-being.

Embracing a holistic approach to personal development, I operate within the Six Dimensions of Wellness:

EmotionalPhysicalIntellectualOccupationalSocialSpiritual

In practice, these dimensions shape what I listen for in a session. I might notice how tension in the body is carrying an emotion that has not yet found words. I may ask about work or occupational stress not because it is the whole picture, but because it often touches the other dimensions in ways clients have not yet noticed. Questions about spirituality, meaning, or purpose come in where they belong for a particular client, never imposed. Each session moves at your pace, and together we follow the thread that feels most alive on the day.

Recognising the interconnectedness of these dimensions, I believe that addressing each facet contributes to building a comprehensive sense of wellness and fulfilment. As I embark on this journey to empower individuals in their pursuit of self-improvement, I am committed to fostering positive transformations across all aspects of their lives.
